Our vision for Lookbookery.

Lookbookery was founded with the desire to create an open social platform dedicated to fashion analysis, discovery and the preservation of the industry’s history. We are a small dedicated team of fashion enthusiasts who saw a noticeable gap in the online fashion space for community led discussion around fashion shows and creators, especially in a world moving away from traditional media and towards public voices.

Another motive for us to create this platform was the clear demand from fashion enthusiasts to be able to digitally curate their wardrobe, from past to present and have a visual timeline of their personal style that they could share with others. There is a significant resistance in this industry towards embracing preservation. We believe displaying the transitions of style from brands to wearers through the passage of time could encourage wholistic ways of thinking about the fashion world.

Lastly, we feel it is important to provide a clear pathway for people new to the fashion space to explore and learn what amazing things are happening without the gatekeeping and obscurity so often presented to newcomers. Having a platform that can act as a central hub for all things fashion, from collections to garments and all other associated media can in turn help the industry grow and include more people than ever before.

We hope you join us on this journey towards building not only an important industry resource, but a fun platform to participate and contribute to. None of this happens without the enthusiasm and passion that the online fashion community provides.

Our Initiative

Building this platform is a long journey and each step is taken with our users in mind. User feedback will definitively shape how this platform grows as well as recognising the different ways that people will want to use it.

Lookbookery is an independent endeavour that is currently completely self-funded, meaning that we have the ability to enact changes purely for the benefit of the team and community, rather than investors and shareholders. This will help us grow organically and sustainably, with large decisions being made that considers everyone involved.

One of the biggest challenges we currently face is related to licensing image rights for collections and other related media. Requesting and cataloguing this content is an intensive manual process, but one that we feel is key to making Lookbookery become a comprehensive look into the world of fashion. This process takes time and requires community support.

The best way for you to support us is through our paid subscription tier, giving you access to expanded features and functionality in our Premium Subscription . All revenue made goes right back into developing the platform to make it better with an even larger scope.
